Hyaline Membrane Disease

Histology of hyaline membrane disease.
The air space in the center is an alveolar duct (AD) lined by a smudgy eosinophilic hyaline membrane (HM) composed of necrotic epithelium and plasma proteus. The solid-appearing tissue surrounding it is collapsed alveoli.
