Dr. Bidwell's research is focused on genetic and environmental determinants of mental health and substance use outcomes across development. She is currently pursuing a K23 award from NIDA to study pharmacogenetic risk factors in high rates of smoking among adolescents with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Biography
Dr. Bidwell is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Departments of Psychiatry & Human Behavior and Behavioral & Social Sciences at Brown University. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Genetics from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2010. She subsequently completed a NIDA-funded T-32 postdoctoral fellowship in addiction and psychiatric genetics at Brown University's Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies from 2010-2012. She joined the Brown faculty in the Departments of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Behavioral and Social Sciences in 2012.
