Biography

Fadya El Rayess, MD, MPH is the new Director of Global Health for the Department of Family Medicine at Brown University and a newly appointed Assistant Residency Director for the Family Medicine Residency. As the former Medical Director of the Chad Brown Community Health Center she has provided medical care in resource poor settings both through her work at several CHCs and through international work in Guatemala, Honduras and, more recently, a year spent in Lesotho, Africa. As the Assistant Residency Director for a new Family Medicine Training Program in Lesotho, she was responsible for developing the four year curriculum while providing daily FM Resident and visiting US medical student supervision and direct patient care. She is representing the Department of Family Medicine in Rwanda and launching the new Family Medicine Global Health and Faculty Development Fellowship to start in August of 2012.
