Richard Limbird, M.D.

Chief, Adult Reconstructive Surgery


Having served as Clinical Professor of Orthopaedics at the Medical College of Ohio from 1986-1987, Dr. Limbird returned to Brown University as Chief of Adult Reconstructive Surgery. He received his B.S. in Chemistry and his M.D. from the University of Georgia. Prior to a residency in orthopaedic surgery Dr. Limbird did two years of an internal medicine residency before fulfilling a military obligation in the Public Health Service on the Pine Ridge Sioux Reservation. He completed a Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Joint Reconstruction prior to his Clinical Research Fellowship at Brown. Dr. Limbird is also the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at the V.A. Hospital and the director of the bone bank.
