Master's Programs in Biology and Public Health
The Division of Biology and Medicine at Brown has several master's programs to which anyone may apply and three that have restricted enrollments.
Financial Support for Master's Students
Financial aid for master's students is not centrally managed and varies among programs. If you have questions about financial aid, please contact the program director.
- Biomedical Engineering (BME): exploits biological molecules and organisms to develop new technologies and manipulates living cells to produce replacement organs and novel therapies.
Jeffrey_Morgan@brown.edu - Biostatistics: develops and applies new methods for data analysis and study design, and then applies those methods to problems in the social, medical, and biological sciences.

- Public Health: conducts research on disease risk factors and health promotion, educates health researchers and policy makers and provides a public service by translating research into public policy.

- Public Health: 1 January for full consideration, then 31 May
- Biostatistics: 1 February for full consideration, then rolling

Restricted-Enrollment Master's Programs:
- Medical Science (Current students in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and advanced PLME undergraduates who matriculated on or before September 2006 only): allows medical students to pursue research work.
- 5th-Year Master of Arts in Biology (Current Brown undergraduates only): an integrated bachelor's-master's degree option that allows Brown undergraduates to continue at Brown for a master's degree after completing their bachelor's degree.
- Brown-Pfizer Master of Arts in Biology - The Brown-Pfizer Program is available only to Pfizer employees and contractors who currently hold a bachelor's degree.
