For Faculty Mentors

Part of our mission in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is to support faculty mentors as you guide the research and professional development of graduate students and postdocs. As experienced researchers and dedicated mentors, you bring knowledge and skills to the less experienced seeking to learn, and you optimize their training experience. As role models, you help acclimate trainees into the culture of the discipline by providing constructive criticism and career guidance. A productive and successful mentoring relationship is highly satisfying and results in advances in both research and individual growth. Honesty, commitment, and clear communication are key on the part of both the mentor and the trainee.

The growing library of references and materials assembled here is meant to serve as a resource for faculty mentors. Please let us know if you have suggestions for our list.
