Brown Biomed

Postdoc Advisory Panel

The Postdoctoral Advisory Panel is a group of postdocs who have volunteered to meet periodically with the Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies with a goal to enhance the postdoctoral experience at Brown. Meeting summaries and member bios are posted here FYI.

Message from Dean Thompson to Postdocs:

Dear Postdoctoral Scholar:

Advisory Panel table

After the first Brown-wide Postdoctoral Resource and Networking event held in 2007, a small group of volunteers met with me to discuss potential initiatives that would enhance the postdoc experience within the Division of Biology and Medicine. I found the input from this initiate group extremely valuable. As a result, others have met with me periodically to represent individual Departments and form a “Postdoctoral Advisory Panel” for my office. The panel has continuously expanded and now includes members from outside the Division, which is great news.

You are a valued member of the Brown research community. Your opinion matters as a means to inform my office of concerns, professional development needs, and other resources that will aid in your career advancement and sense of community. If you are interested in representing your Department as advisor and can spare an hour or so twice a semester, please contact Roberta Swanson, Program Manager.

Thank you,
Nancy
