Leadership
Dr. James Padbury is the Director of the Rhode Island Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences (CCTS). His areas of expertise include basic and clinical research in perinatal biology, with a specialized focus in cardiovascular and placental development biology. He conducts several National Institutes of Health and Foundation supported clinical trials, including a March of Dimes study on the genetics of preterm birth.
Dr. Padbury is also the Oh-Zopfi Professor of Pediatrics and Perinatal Research, Pediatrician-in-Chief and Chief of Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine at the Women and Infants' Hospital, and Associate Chair for Research, Department of Pediatrics at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
