Core Resources
The CTSA Planning Initiative will best serve researchers and their research activities by providing access to key research tools, methodologies, and expertise in a timely, consistent, and effective manner to avoid fragmentation and duplication of efforts. The initiative will make accessible a number of Core Research Facilities that currently exist across the University and in the affiliated hospitals through a coordinated approach with one central point of contact.
A coordinated effort among Core Research Facilities will help clinical researchers (1) avoid possible time and financial barriers to conducting research, (2) enhance the level and quality of their research, and (3) assist basic and clinical researchers with novel ideas from across the University and the affiliated hospitals communicate and form effective collaborations.
While the core facilities are currently funded through their affiliated institutions and awards, the proposed NIH CTSA will also provide additional funding to enhance and sustain the existing cores.
Each of the cores has defined services to be offered to researchers with specialized support for graduate students and junior faculty.
