Biomedical Informatics

Biomedical informatics resources are used for the organization and analysis of biological and related information. This involves the use of computers to develop complex databases, retrieval mechanisms, and data analysis tools. Biomedical informatics infrastructure includes data-gathering facilities, computing hardware, data analysis and informatics tools, software, high-bandwidth network connectivity, and technical support.

The Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences has been involved with several biomedical informatics initiatives throughout the state and continues to help build the necessary infrastructure to bolster biomedical informatics capabilities for researchers.
