The goal of the stewardship and administration team is to elevate the stature and public perception of the Division through positive, strategic interactions with multiple constituencies.

Amy Umstadter
Amy is responsible for developing and implementing systemic plans for cultivating and stewarding major gift and annual gift prospects. She is our liaison for key philanthropic events like facility and professorship dedications, and she manages the list of naming opportunities that exist in the Division of Biology and Medicine. Amy is also responsible for human resources, budgeting, and she shares responsibility for strategic planning and developing the organizational structure needed to support the Dean’s goals and priorities. Amy joined the Advancement team in October 2005.

Stewardship Officer/Writer
Pamela McNulty
Pam works with faculty, staff and students to provide meaningful communication to those who generously support the Division of Biology and Medicine. She implements the biomed stewardship program which includes acknowledging gifts and providing annual reports on endowed funds. She is also responsible for planning events such as scholarship gatherings, professorship dedications, and endowed lectures. Pam has been at Brown since 1998 and she joined the Advancement team in February 2012.

Administrative Assistant
Debra Maio
Debra is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Office of Biomedical Advancement. Tasks include oversight of reception, supplies, office equipment, and workspace maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the department. Responsibilities also include assistance with large mailings, billing, human resources, correspondence, contract paperwork, and administration. Debra joined our team in August 2010.
