Biomedical Advancement - Individual Giving

Individual Giving

The Development Office is responsible for raising philanthropic support for Alpert Medical School, the Program in Biology, and the Public Health Program. Six fundraisers share responsibility for soliciting support from medical and Brown University alumni, parents of medical school students (MD and PLME), local friends of the Medical School, and corporations and foundations. Biomedical fundraisers work closely with the University's development office.

Development staff facilitate relationships between donors and the area they wish to support. Types of gifts include annual contributions to the Brown Medical Annual Fund and Brown Public Health Annual Fund, endowed funds, such as scholarships and professorships, and capital gifts, which support building projects needed throughout the Division.

Currently, the Development Office is focused on raising funds to support priorities put forth in the Campaign for Academic Enrichment.
