Duration of Rotation:     6-12 months

Type of Rotation:     Ambulatory

Cognitive Content:     Office practice in Obstetrics and Gynecology, including histories and physicals, differential diagnosis, prenatal and postpartum care, family planning, STD's, menstrual irregularities, menopause, infertility, abnormal pap smear, etc.

Prerequisites:     Clerkship in Obstetrics and Gynecology

Criteria for Passing:     Student's grade is determined by the private physician with whom he/she worked.  A passing grade would indicate satisfactory levels of attendance and performance.

Criteria for Honors:     Determined by attending physician.  Honors grade would indicate outstanding or exceptional performance.

Competencies:     Ability I: advanced level, Ability II: advanced level, Ability IV: advanced level, Ability IX: advanced level, I and II provisionally approved, IV and IX approved

Number of Nights Oncall per Week:     None

Planned Independent Projects for Students:     None.  However, individual physicians may make individual arrangements with students interested in doing a project

Description:      The student will work with the attending physician in his/her private office once/week throughout the year, allowing the student the opportunity to follow patients for several months.
