Cognitive Content:     Applying recent advances in neuroscience to the study of neurochemical disorders and dementia.  Review of neural substrates of behavior, neuroimaging and neuropharmacology.

Prerequisites:     Clerkship in Psychiatry

Criteria for Passing:     Adequately perform the duties of a sub-intern with selected inpatients.  Supervised neurological consultation on psychiatric inpatients and assessment of outpatients with neuropsychiatric disorders, memory disorders, memory loss and dementia in the outpatient clinic.

Criteria for Honors:     Initiate a scholarly review of a subject pertinent to neuropsychiatry.

Competencies:     Ability II: intermediate/advanced level, Ability III: intermediate/advanced level, Ability IV: intermediate/advanced level, Provisionally approved

Description:     1) Neurological evaluation of patients with cognitive and behavioral disorders to better understand brain-behavior relationships. 2) Treatment of neuropsychiatric disorders.
