Cognitive Content:     Pathophysiology of endocrine and diabetes disorders.

Prerequisites:    Clerkship in Medicine

Criteria for Passing:     Attend inpatient rounds and out patient clinics, demonstrate ability to evaluate clinical problems and discuss pathophysiology commensurate with level oftraining, and make a scholarly review of the literature for presentation.

Criteria for Honors:     Students who are clearly superior in their history/physical exam skills, ability to express themselves succinctly and clearly, and who participate actively and attend all clinical sessions will receive an honors grade.

Competencies:    Ability III: advanced level, Ability V:advanced level

Planned Independent Projects for Students:     Special arrangement

Description:     Student's primary activity will be evaluation of patients with suspected endocrine disorders, formulation of a differential diagnosis, presentation and discussion of cases with faculty, and presentation of a scholarly topic at endocrine rounds.
