Cognitive Content:Pathophysiology, diagnosis and management of critically ill patients with single and multiple organ system failure.
Prerequisites: Clerkships in Medicine and/ or Surgery
Criteria for Passing:Good clinical judgment, medical knowledge, clinical skills, humanistic qualities and professional attitude.
Criteria for Honors:Outstanding clinical judgment, medical knowledge, clinical skills, humanistic qualities, professional attitudes, and medical care.
Competencies: Ability III: advanced level, Ability IV: advanced level, Provisionally approved

Description: As a member of the ICU team, the student will have primary responsibility for assigned patients including admission, daily and discharge management. This includes invasive techniques for hemodynamic monitoring, intubation, and management of mechanical ventilation.
