Type of Rotation:              Ambulatory (Urgent Care) or other ambulatory sites

Cognitive Content:            Daily conference, presentation of cases, review of cases, selected reading materials based on cases/type of experience.

Prerequisites:                   Clerkship in Pediatrics

Criteria for Passing:           Demonstration of solid fund of pediatric knowledge, concise presentations, participation at conferences, positive responses from evaluating pediatricians.

Criteria for Honors:           Above, plus participation in research/clinical project or significant contribution to teaching program.

Competencies:                  Ability IV: advanced level

Number of Hrs/Wk of Classroom/Discussion:       3-6

Number of Nights Oncall per Week: None

Planned Independent Projects for Students: Ongoing research in Ambulatory Pediatrics — e.g. chart review, questionnaires.

Description:                     Student's primary activity will be to evaluate patients of pediatric age seen in the Urgent Care Clinic for common and uncommon pediatric conditions.
