Duration of Rotation: 2-4 weeks
Prerequisites: None
Criteria for Passing: At the end of the rotation the student will be provided with a clinical scenario. They will be required to discuss imaging workup and request appropriate studies to attempt to define a diagnosis. The student will be shown the imaging studies requested and be expected to describe the findings and arrive at a basic differential diagnosis.
Criteria for Honors: Honors criteria is reserved for the student who subjectively performed at the expected level of a first year radiology resident at the end of his/her first month's rotation through neuroradiology.
Number of Hrs/Wk of Classroom/Discussion: 1* - *Students will attend all clinical neuroradiology conferences. 1) One hour weekly neurology/neuroradiology conference; 2) One hour weekly neurosurgery/neuroradiology conference; 3) One hour weekly neuro-oncology/neuroradiology conference; 4) Monthly one hour epilepsy conference; 5) Bi-monthly one hour pediatric neuro-oncology conference; and 6) Monthly neuropathology conference

Planned Independent Projects for Students:
Abilities: Ability II and Ability IV, Intermediate or Advanced
Description: Students will be integrated into the daily neuroradiology film review sessions that occur in the MRI and CT sections at Rhode Island Hospital. The students will observe neuroangiography/neurointervention in the Interventional Radiology section.
