James O. Maher III, M.D.

A graduate of New York Medical College, Dr. Maher completed his orthopaedic residency training at the same university. He then spent four years on active duty with the US Navy stationed at Newport Naval Hospital. In addition to being the Naval Academy Preparatory Team Physician, he served in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War. Currently, his team physician responsibilities include Salve Regina University, Roger Williams University, St. George's School and Rogers High School. He is the orthopaedic consultant for the Newport Tennis Hall of Fame (ATP Tournament), Newport Jai Alai, and USGA Amateur Tournament. Dr. Maher practices both in Newport and Providence.
