Division of Shoulder and Elbow

The section of shoulder and elbow surgery encompasses a broad spectrum of shoulder, elbow and upper extremity pathology. This service handles a comprehensive range of athletic, degenerative, traumatic, and neurologic disorders.

The surgical experience includes tendon and ligament repairs and reconstructions, total joint arthroplasty, operative fracture treatment, arthroscopic surgery and brachial plexus reconstruction. Outpatient treatment is provided in the private office and orthopaedic clinic.

The department core curriculum includes a series of didactic lectures. There is extensive opportunity for clinical and basic science research studying the pathology of impingement syndrome and rotator cuff injuries, kinematic evaluation of the shoulder, and a variety of clinical outcome studies.
