Division of Pediatric Orthopedics The Pediatric Orthopaedic service at Rhode Island Hospital is staffed by three full-time pediatric orthopaedists and a pediatric fellow. The Hasbro Children's Hospital represents the only pediatric facility in this state. In addition, Women & Infants' Hospital, also located on campus, while housing all of the difficult deliveries in Rhode Island, offers an incredible array of elective pediatric orthopaedics. Furthermore, as a Level I Trauma Center, it affords the resident a unique opportunity to observe many cases of pediatric trauma. There is a significant amount of basic research going on in areas of growth plate physiology and leg lengthening, as well as extensive clinic research. There is an active Child Development Center, housing specialized clinics in muscular dystrophy, myelodysplasia, and cerebral palsy. |
