Education / Experience
Heidi Oksendahl joined the Bioengineering laboratory in November, 2003. She received her Bachelors Degree in Communications from Whitworth College and Master’s of Science Degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island. Ms. Oksendahl was previously working as a physical therapist in Orthopedic, outpatient facilities in Rhode Island.

Previous research and continuing education include: Comparison of Quadriceps force onset and offset reaction times, spinal evaluation and manipulation, hip surgery and rehabilitation, strength training with adolescents and elderly, intervention for impairments of the knee and shoulder, therapeutic Pilates and Thai Chi.

Currently her primary research interests center on the knee, ACL injury, meniscus injury, causes of injury and gender differences, and the effects of injury on function, balance and arthritis development.
