A note about anatomical correctness: Some structures involved in DBS are not shown very well by this particular sagittal section. These include the globus pallidus interna and the subthalamic nucleus. In reality, these structures are more lateral to the plane shown; they are both lateral and very slightly anterior to the thalamus. However, their relative positions are still shown for your information.
