Biomedical Discovery
As clinical medicine becomes more integrated with basic biology and genetics, health-related research becomes more important than ever. Brown's long-recognized culture of collaboration makes this type of multidisciplinary work possible and promising. Scientists in Brown's Program in Biology and Medical School are on the edge of discovery in a range of areas, from cell biology to environmental toxicology. They are conducting truly translational health-related research that connects the test tubes and supercomputers in their labs to patients in the wards.
One major area of focus at Brown is brain science. The more than 100 faculty at the world-renowned Brown Institute for Brain Science (BIBS) are transforming human health, one discovery at a time, through collaborative research. Structural biology, environmental science, bioengineering, and biology of aging are also thriving areas at Brown.
Support Biomedical Discovery
